Building Together
Our story began as Artisan Homes in 1987, building custom residences across Central Virginia. From the start, we believed that building a home should be a partnership — not something that happens to you, but something you are part of every step of the way.
We involve our clients in the decision-making process from the very beginning. We encourage you to ask questions, share concerns, and bring your ideas to the table. Your home should reflect the way you live, and nobody understands that better than you do. Our job is to listen, guide, and bring your vision to life with the craftsmanship it deserves.
We take a fully custom approach to every project. We don't maintain a plan book of home designs and finishes for you to pick from. Instead, we work with you and your architect to create something that is entirely yours — energy efficient, budget conscious, and built to last.
Transparency & Trust
We pride ourselves on complete openness about our process, especially about budget and schedule. There are no surprises with Artisan. We discuss costs openly, break down estimates in detail, and keep you informed throughout construction. When decisions need to be made, we make sure you have the information you need to make them with confidence.
As you look through our portfolio, you'll see that many of our projects come from referrals and repeat clients. We believe that's because building a home together creates a relationship — and we take that relationship seriously, long after move-in day.
Rooted in Community
Artisan's commitment extends beyond the job site. We believe in investing in the communities where we build.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville
Artisan and its employees are proud to support Habitat for Humanity. We were thrilled to sponsor a family during HFHGC's first Builder's Blitz in the Fifeville neighborhood and continue to support HFHGC through the Habitat Store.
Building Goodness Foundation
This organization connects volunteers from the design and construction industries with vulnerable communities. Artisan employees have participated in the Christmas in July event, providing housing repairs to low-income Charlottesville families.
